Auckland: Transplants of live cells or tissue from animals to humans have
come a step closer in New Zealand, following a report clearing the path
of cultural, ethical and spiritual objections.

In a report to the Government on Monday, the Bioethics Council said those
objections were outweighed by the potential benefits of such transplants,
called xenotransplantation.
