Arcata California Votes to Ban GE Crops and Seeds Within City Limits

ARCATA, Calif. " Arcata's City Council voted unanimously Nov. 3 to ban planting or selling genetically engineered seeds or crops within the city limits.

The ordinance, introduced at an Arcata City Council meeting in October, is open for public input before being considered for final adoption Nov. 17. Once approved, the ban on planting genetically modified organisms would take effect in 30 days.
